- Anyone in education looking for different ways to engage their students!

Instructional Goal #3

Teachers will learn how to create a Prezi as an alternative to standard presentation formats for the purpose of engagement and multimedia exposure for the students using a previously written lesson.  (Intellectual Goal)

Instructional Goal #1

Teachers will collaborate in a project-based group setting and will convert a previously written lesson with little to no technology into a more engaging format infused with various forms of technology.  (Intellectual Goal)

Instructional Goal #4

Teachers will develop an attitude of understanding which demonstrates the importance of student centered learning and project based activities using technology even if it does not conform to a specific TEKS.  Teachers will be able to see “big picture” in the 21st century skill acquisition of their students.  (Attitudinal Goal)

Instructional Goal #2

Teachers will learn how to manipulate or create at least one app in order to engage and utilize the technology tools students are already familiar with (cell phones and tablets).  (Intellectual Goal)

Learner Analysis

App Creation Learning Method flow chart: Part of learning, using and integrating new technology is understanding the target audience the technology will be geared towards.  Although websites are still frequently in use and fairly easy to maneuver, apps are becoming prolific and have become simple enough for even toddlers to utilize.  By demonstrating the methods for a templated app creation, teachers/ educators can integrate apps for more convenient classroom communication and updates or create lessons that allow students to create what they themselves use on a daily basis.

Alternative Presentation Method flow chart: Many teachers are already used to using PowerPoint and students have become acclimated to the PowerPoint presentation method.  Learning alternative presentation styles that are not as static as PowerPoint create a more engaging and interactive environment for students and teachers alike.  Teachers who are able to utilize these tools can then model and teach their students how to create more interesting presentations for future use.

Instructional Analysis for Instructional Goal #3

Our original third Instructional Goal was Project Based Learning and we had designed Module Three of this website to introduce PBL to teachers and give them ideas as to how to implement PBL into instruction.  Based on our interviewees feedback, we decided to revise Module Three on our website to how to use Kahoot.  We feel PBL is still a viable Instructional Goal because teachers can implement PBL using the technology tools taught in techvelopment.com's Module One, Two, and Three.

Project Based Learning Method flow chart: Teachers who are intimidated by the use and integration of technology may find it easier to work with material they are familiar and comfortable using.  The process listed below eases instructors into an integration mindset by taking a preexisting lesson and modifying it with the assistance of their colleagues in order to update the lesson with useful and relevant technology as well as establish a collaborative and lesson design oriented discussion with peers.
