Module One - Prezi vs. Powerpoint

Most educators are familiar with using and creating a PowerPoint to present information to their students.  We would like to introduce you to an alternative presentation module called Prezi.  This presentation method is a website and is free with the option to upgrade for more features.  In this module, you will

  • Compare two presentation methods

  • View a tutorial video on how to create a simple Prezi

  • Communicate with other learners to compare your “Prezi” journey

  • Create your own Prezi with content from a previously made PowerPoint

Step One:

Please view the two presentations below - one is a PowerPoint and one is a Prezi.  Each of the presentations contain the same content.  After viewing both presentations, please take the questionnaire that follows - which will direct you to make comparisons between Prezi and PowerPoint.

Please post your comments below on the differences and similarities of PowerPoint and Prezi.

You will now view two Prezi tutorial videos.  Prezi created this first video.

Now it’s time for you to create your own Prezi.  You can use material from a PowerPoint that you have already created.  You will start by creating a Prezi account.

To create an account, please click on the following link:

https://prezi.com

  • Select “Get Started”

  • Select “Public” and continue for free (There are educational discounts for teachers and students)

  • You will be required to fill in personal information and a password to create an account.

After you have created your account, please search for the following template:
